Bohmer was a German artist, whose work included illustrations for editions of Gustave Flaubert, Thomas Mann, and Guy de Maupassant. Despite the text being in German, this volume is comprised almost entirely of his illustrations.
Huge book housed in heavy slipcase. Slipcase is variously discolored and scuffed, with heavy rubbing at corners of opening. Book itself slightly tan along jacket spine, which has one or two tiny stains, slight bubbling to paper coating on boards in a few places, otherwise in near fine condition with slight rub at top fore corners of jacket. A rare book.
