Signed and inscribed by Cain on the front endpaper to "Mildred Pierce Mark." Jacket has extensive masking tape repair to the verso, which is likely holding the front and back panels to the spine, with chipping and small tears at edges and corners, now in Brodart cover. Book itself has a slight spine lean, fading to top stain, slight darkening to gutters, endpapers and pastedowns. Overall jacket in fair shape, book itself about VG. Despite the jacket's condition, the front cover is nice and bright. An excellent addition to the devoted crime fiction (or film noir) collector's shelf.
