Robert Strimban, 28 drawn designs using the phrase "You turn me on," n.d. (ca. 1960s).
28 pen drawings housed in folded card, which itself has black paper pasted over surfaces. A hand painted word bubble and drawing on metallic paper adorn the front cover, a business card is pasted on the back.
The brothers Strimban (Bob and Jack) ran a design agency--the business card glued to the back cover advertises "Consultant Designers/Environmental Graphics"--that produced various book covers, advertisements, and more. This small folder, custom made by Bob, and with his name and address written inside the front cover, houses 28 original pen drawings utilizing the phrase "You turn me on." All are on square sheets of paper, approx. 8 by 8 inches.
Two drawings seem to have been pasted to corresponding blank sheets of paper--those two drawings suffer from glue burning throughout, and the blank sheets are also glue burned but included. All other sheets only show minimal evidence of handling. Glued black paper cover is beginning to peel from the cardstock beneath (see last picture). Moderate handling and shelfwear to outer covers. A one-of-a-kind piece, and a great snapshot of '60s design aesthetics.
