Robin Moore, "The French Connection," Little, Brown, 1969. First edition.

Signed, inscribed and dated by Edward Egan, one of two police officers--the other being Sonny Grosso--who originally worked the case that Moore's book details. Egan has inscribed the book on the first blank page to a "Dep. Chief Insp. John Kinsella." Egan writes "Hope you enjoyed my first book and forthcoming movie," talking of the film directed by William Friedkin, based off of Moore's book, that would premier two years later.

Jacket variously rubbed at all corners, spine ends and surfaces, with some tearing at foot of spine. Some noticeable surface scratching on rear panel as well. Now housed in Brodart cover. Book itself has a slight forward lean from reading, slight bow to front board, small dent on top edge of front board, light rubbing to bottom edges of both boards. Foxing to all page edges, with faint foxing to first and last couple interior pages. Overall VG-. The only copy located with Egan's signature at time of listing.
